Stephanie was born and raised in North Carolina on a tobacco farm. Throughout school Stephanie always questioned “why does this hurt on my body and what is actually there?” So began the interest in anatomy and physiology.
After a serious car accident and fracturing a vertebra, she obtained a degree in Emergency Medicine. She began a yoga practice to compliment her running and athletic pursuits which helped with lower back pain. The more she held a regular practice, the more Stephanie knew that this was the modality that would help her and others that suffered from an anatomical or emotional ailment. Pursuing a Kripalu certification and continuing with self study, Trauma sensitive yoga was something that held a particular interest, in turn she began the iRest program.
Stephanie’s yogic journey has led her thru many different styles of yoga. Her classes are grounded in Ashtanga with an element of flow and restoration with a fun, light hearted spin. Her approach of being a tutor to aspiring and fellow yogis and yoginis is playful, calming and an inviting place to get to know yourself, inside and out.
